According to my physicians both of these substances can affect thyroid function or thyroid replacement effectiveness. I have been taking desiccated bovine thyroid health supplements for almost 3 years. Unfortunately most drs don't want to prescribe it because it is a little more difficult to regulate. Yah, it is made from pig thyroids, because they are most like human. And it was the standard treatment for hypothyroidism for many many years. I prefer taking something that is natural, and not created out of chemicals in a test tube.
