The VitaBandTM formula is specifically designed to meet the needs of patients who have an Adjustable Gastric Banding (AGB). Patients with bands can develop deficiencies due to lower food intake, rapid weight loss and other reasons. Some of the deficiencies reported with AGB include Thiamine, B12, Folate, and Iron. Bone loss is also risk. The VitaBand product consists of two chewable wafers per day, which can be taken at any time of the day. It is available in Watermelno, Lemon Cream, and Mixed Berry flavors. (More customer reviews)I wish I had time for a longer review but while re-ordering I saw that this product only had one and thought I should add a word. This clay has changed my life. I am a 30-year-old woman who has had worsening fibromyalgia-type symptoms over the past five years (joint pain and stiffness, worse in the morning). I read about this clay about four months ago and tried it -- I could feel a big difference in less than a week! Now, I sleep like a baby, my aches and pains are all but gone and I feel like a teenager again! Try it!!
Update: It's important to drink lots of water when taking this product. I had a period where I got busy and too-little-water + clay = constipation. Reading reviews elsewhere, I learned that this can happen and that psyllium husk (metamucil) capsules are a recommended adjunct to the supplement. I've been taking them with the clay plus water and it's solved the problem.

I'm always looking for it on sale and it rarely is. All Floradix products are great. I also take the liquid iron. Wish they were more cost effective. (More customer reviews)This particular brand, "Plantation", is the only molasses where only two tablespoons contains 20% of the RDA of Iron as well as Calcium. In molasses, the iron and calcium are in the form of sugars, which means they are more bio-available than any other form. I put it in hot water and the sweet-bitter flavor makes me think I'm drinking coffee. It is great at night, when I want coffee and do not want decaf. It is tricky to use in baking and not generally a substitute for other sweeteners because of the bitter part of the taste, but mixed with sugar or Splenda it is wonderful, though keep it out of coffee, because bitter and sweet are great flavors in combination, you can get too much bitter in one gulp. Try it along with another sweetener on cereal, in muffins, made into syrup and other ways your imagination may conceive. It is great stirred in milk, making it taste a lot like mocha but with enough ferrous gluconate and calcium to keep your bones strong and prevent/treat anemia.
