(More customer reviews)For me, the biggest challenge with hot rollers has been with the clips. I have very fine, very straight hair which does not like to bend around a roller; and then I need a good long clip to hold the hair in place. Those little bent-wire things that come with most sets don't cut it.
These rollers come with fitted, snap-on "clips" which will cage your hair right up against the roller so it doesn't just fall out. The velvety surface also makes rolling easier.
Two minor drawbacks: 1) when the rollers are off the pegs, the entire surface is burning hot; very dangerous if you are clumsy or have kids around and 2) probably for safety reasons due to #1, these rollers do not get as hot as some competitors'. Kind of important if you have curl-resistant hair.
Still a fantastic value - I paid less than $19 at a certain big-box discount store.

They haven't produced a good photo of the clips for those of you interested in them, so I will describe one of the many flaws with this set of rollers. The clips have a metal plate on the inside of them that "sandwiches" the hair between the roller and the metal plate. The pressure of this is the ONLY thing that keeps these rollers in you hair. There are no teeth at all, only a smooth surface, that keeps these things in place. This means that when you put a roller in your hair, it hangs from your head. You can forget about a tight roll. What happens is that when you remove the rollers from your head, you have a large crease where the roller was hanging from your head. In my attempt for a tighter roll, I tried using less hair and the clips just sprung from my head across the room, and almost landed in the toilet where they belong!!! I hope this allows me to not give any stars to these but I may have to give 1 in order to leave this - if it has one, it's only because I had to.
