It's narrow and it stays put...it never falls off. I also like the on/off and heat setting buttons because they never get in the way. My only two complaints is that (1) it is too heavy and (2) it doesn't come with a diffuser.

The dryer was a little heavier than I expected, but I managed. After two heavenly weeks, it stopped blowing hot air. I discovered that if I held down the cool-shot button it would blow hot, but that got annoying. So I returned it and bought a Conair professional dryer that was less expensive. Luckily amazon refunded my money.

(More customer reviews)Shipping was fast and the product does straighten hair so I don't give a 1. However, the representations about the product ARE NOT TRUE. The company says that this product is better than other hair straighteners. The reality is that this works just like the other two straighteners that I already have which cost much less.
I do not mind paying for value. I had decided to invest the $129 for a better straightener. Unfortunately, it simply does not perform any better than the $50 or the $70 straightener that I already have.
I either have a defective product or the representations are not accurate.
Be careful - The company will not accept a refund as it is "used." I have no idea how you are to determine if something works without using it.
So I am stuck with this. As I said, it does work, but it's not worth the extra money at all.
I have also since found out that I could have bought this at my local mall for a cheaper price. I don't plan to buy another but thought I would pass that information along.

(More customer reviews)I love this dryer! It has a higher wattage than the other brands of similar dryers, and it looks better too!
It is not only beautiful but works FAST! I got it to dry my hair in the morning before work, while I put on my make up. I hate standing with a blow dryer!!! I just pin my hair up with a few big clips and sit under this dryer and by the time my make up is done, my hair is dry.
I do still blow dry my bangs first to keep them smooth, but the rest dries in a natural wave due to the gentle air flow from the dryer.
It gets really hot, but you can also set it to a lower temp if you want. But I like it hot so my hair dries fast.
I also like the fact it is on wheels and easy to roll around and get out of the way. My old drier was the type that sits on a desk and it was a hassle to get to the correct height, this one is easy to move up and down.

I came across this hair dryer when my stylist recomended it and gave me her beauty supply store discount number. I paid over $100 for this! You are getting such a deal here!
In the last three years I've never had a problem. The only advice I have is to not use the hottest setting with the highest setting more than a couple times a month--I made that mistake and paid for it dearly with split ends and breaks. However, it is really nice when you are in a hurry--I have thick shoulder length hair and can totally try it in less than 3 minutes with this.

(More customer reviews)I have been using this hair dryer for about 9 months, in winter on a daily basis and summertime almost daily. It is compact, light, fast, and fairly quiet. It also seems to be less damaging than the other dryers I have tried. My only issue is the buttons are at an awkward angle, and even after nine months (and 15 years of regular hairdryer use) I am still hitting the temperature button accidentally. I read that this was a problem on different websites before I bought it and unfortunately ignored the reviews. Another word of warning for those of you with straight, thin hair, as I have...this hair dryer will not add any volume! On the contrary, it tends to flatten my hair more than it is, naturally. I think it would be better suited to those with naturally thick and wavy/curly hair that like to blowdry it straight...it leaves a smooth and shiny finish.

(More customer reviews)This product arrived yesterday, and I got so many compliments on my hair today. I have fine hair, but lots of it. I also am growing out a body wave, and the other straightener I have (Zena) just didn't do as great a job as this one. It is true what they say, if you want a good straightener, you have to pay for it. I think this is as good as a CHI straightener, but I got a great price on it for buying it after X'mas - $99.00 for the set!
This thing heats up quickly, it is not too heavy and it did not snag my hair the whole time I used it (which has happened with every other straightener I have had.)

I can curl my hair in about an hour and thirty minutes with the Metropolis 1 in. flat iron and it looks great till my next wash (twice a week). I've had my iron for about 3 years and it still works great! I'm surprised most people have not heard of Metropolis when they ask me what I use on my hair because this is a great iron! I'm glad to have found it!

The paddles do not fit flush together so you have to use your second hand to pinch the paddles together so that your hair does not slide out. In doing so, you cannot hold on to the length of hair that you are trying to guide through the paddles. PLUS, this snags or better yet, does not glide through hair, which makes it impossible to have sleek, smooth hair. I have used it three times on (just blown) DRY hair. I did not try it on damp hair as it says can be done. I am going back to my "old faithful" iron. It is not ceramic, but it is easier to work with. I don't know if this particular iron is simply one that "slid through" inspection before hitting the market, but I cannot recommend it.

(More customer reviews)I decided on this iron after finding out that it is made by the same company that makes the Chi Irons. I also had several friends recommend the Biosilk irons. I have bought many irons over the years, mostly from a beauty supply store. They have been good while they lasted, but never lasted very long. I have only had this iron for a day and used it for the first time this morning. It worked great! I only had to pass it through 1-2 times as opposed to 3-4 times on my last iron (which was frying my hair!!) It heats up pretty quickly. The buttons don't get in the way as you are holding it which has been a problem on previous irons. Plus now, half way through the day, my hair isn't starting to frizz up a little like it usually does. So, I am pretty happy! I just hope it lasts a while. Overall, I think it is a good iron for the price!
