(More customer reviews)Wow - I've owned many hairdryers in this price range, most recently a Babyliss tourmaline that just died and an Elchim before that. I took a chance on this when the Babyliss broke and I wanted something with at least 2,000 watts that was also a ceramic tourmaline dryer. There is absolutely no contest between this and the others I have had over the years. Not only can it dry my thick, coarse, wavy/frizzy hair fast, but it gets it poker straight - no flat ironing needed. And as advertised, it looks and feels silky and shiny. No other hair dryer has ever performed so well on these two points. Prior to using this only my hairdresser could get my hair this straight just by blowdrying. In fact I think she has used this model on me before. It is advertised as salon quality - which in part means meant for heavy duty use. Essential for me as I usually wash my hair every day and I have to blow dry it.
The Speed Freak also seemed to lock out the humidity after drying instead of frizzing out five minutes after the blowout was finished. Mine came boxed with a free paddle brush, which felt worlds better on my scalp than the one I've been using for a while now. What a great buy. Not a lightweight dryer though, but not too heavy. I would highly recommend. Other huge plus includes heat and power settings that are not up and down switches as on most other dryers, but horizonal wheels that securely clicks your chosen settings in to place, so they won't accidentally get changed or switch the dryer off as often happens on other dryers with the old up and down switches. A superb product.

(More customer reviews)I have always previously owned cheap Conair or Revlon hair dryers - nothing over $19.99. I took a chance, dropped some cash and bought the Rusk Speed Freak in Pink. I absolutely love it! I have long thick hair - halfway down my back...and it dries my entire head of hair in 5-6 minutes, seriously! I wouldn't have believed it myself without actually seeing it happen. This dryer is worth the money. It does get extremely hot so be careful to keep moving it around your head but high heat and less time is actually better for your hair than using a dryer that takes 15 minutes. I will purchase another one when this one dies - I can't believe I spent all those years drying my hair for hours when this one gets it done so fast!

My only complaint, as similar w/other blow dryers, is that the on/off switch is on the handle near where I hold it when using it. Every now and then I will accidentally turn it off while using it. A little inconvenient, but I still love using it.

(More customer reviews)I straighten my hair all the time because if I don't, I look like a lion! I didn't want to damage my hair so I got this stuff and it works GREAT! So people talk about it being sticky, and it is, but what I do is I section my hair, spray a section, then brush my hair so it won't be sticky. It still works! And you usually only have to straighten each few strands of hair once. So I usually have all my hair straightened in about 10mins. If that. And I have really thick hair. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

(More customer reviews)My friend used this iron on me to prove a point; I was a die hard Chi iron user and she wanted me to convert, lol. I recently moved to the UK and shorted (destroyed) my Chi iron. On a visit home, she flattened my hair with her Rusk iron. Now, my hair is curly like telephone coil and this iron perfectly pressed my hair with minimal effort! I was really surprised at the ease with which she was able to perfectly coif my hair! Seriously! Neither she or myself are stylists but from the look of my hair, nobody could tell! I highly recommend this iron and $130 isn't a lot to pay to have you hair look salon-worthy every day. ALSO...I think its important to note that my hair did not smell like burnt hair; it did not feel burnt or damaged. It felt soft and well treated. That is what really sold me on this iron. Invest in yourself...and this iron.
