The ceramic barrel is of the finest quality and leaves a nice shine on your hair. The cord is just the right lenght so it does not get caught on other bathroom objects. The barrel swivels making it easy to use. Customer service was great-I ordered the larger barrel but could see that for my fine hair the smaller would be best. They kindly made the exchange!

(More customer reviews)I have been using this product for over 20 years although it is getting harder to find. I love using the braun curling iron as it is the only curling iron that works for me, and I love being able to take it with me due to the convience of using the fuel cartridges. My only complaint is on a small price item they charge an excessive amount for shipping. I just received an order of six 2-pack cartridges in a small two pound box and they charged me over 14.00 for shipping. This is almost half of what the item cost to begin with.

But the best part is the fact that the cord does not tangle up like the old ones did while you're using it. The cord just swivels around and it is very easy to use. I have short hair and the 1/2 inch barrel is just right.

The spring is way too tight...so it "snaps" pretty hard. Doesn't heat overly well and just looks like cheap crap.
Go for the Vidal Sassoon one a little bit more expensive.

(More customer reviews)On Sunday, my Conair butane powered curling iron stopped heating. It's about 10 years old, but I've only used it regularly (2/3x week) for the last 3/4 years. I had recently purchased many thermacell refills on ebay, so was quite disappointed. I love the ability to use this anywhere without worry of finding electricity--camping and car trips are the best!
Looked locally for a replacement but to no avail (small town...) Anyhow, I was very hesitant, looking at the previous review, but the price (under $10 including shipping) seemed reasonable enough to take a chance on it, and it did look a lot like my current iron. Got it in today, less than a week after ordering, and tried it out-it works great! No heating problems that I can tell-works as good as I'm used to-gets just as hot as any iron. Plus, the heat cover for my old iron fits this one as well-it was the perfect replacement. Must be an older model, but it was perfect for my needs!

Made in Thailand, this little iron takes about a minute to heat up and is just as good (if not better cuz of no cords!) than any other curling iron out there in a similar price range. I thought the butane cartrige was genius and they are cheap! It also comes in a cute case to carry it with that measures about 2" by 7" (appx) so you can fit it anywhere!
I highly recommend this product.
