Tourmaline Ceramic 1" Hot Brush Review

(More customer reviews)The concept is good but the finished product needs more work. Not enough nylon teeth and therefor the metal teeth touch your scalp and burn you. The amount of both the metal and nylon teeth have to be exactly doubled, then you will have the perfect curling brush. I've always loved curling brushes and have used them for many, many years and will never use a regular curling iron ...specifically for the same reason that this one is not quite complete. It burns the scalp!
So CONAIR, get back to work and finish designing this thing so I can get a new one.....I'm waiting!!!!

I decided to try this product and was pleased with the results. It does hold the hair in place while drying so this eliminates blow drying then curling. The release button works great for tangle free. If there is anything I would like to change perhaps I would like for the temperature to get a little hotter. My hair is thick and course so I have to hold in position for a long time to dry and control the curl. But I would recommend this product to anyone looking for curl control as well as a styling tool. It is light weight and easy to handle. Good quality

Remington Shine Therapy Hair Dryer Review

(More customer reviews)First of all I will say that this hair dryer is a little on the heavy side. So, if that bothers you, then you should not buy this one. I quickly got used to the weight and kind of thought of it as a workout each morning :)
I have had it for almost 2 years now and I have had no problems with it what so ever.
It has 3 heat settings and 3 speed settings.
The cool setting is really good. Some dryers just give a luke warm air, but this one really gives you cool air. I like to use the cool air setting to cool down my scalp/head/hair after blow drying so long. My hair is really long and it takes a long time to dry. I usually am pretty hot and my head sweats by the end, so it is nice to use that cool air and cool down. It helps to prevent my hair from going flat as well.
The "Shine Therapy" feature is an ok feature. I wouldn't say it makes a huge difference in my hair, but I can notice some difference. Less fly aways, smoother look overall and shine. It is kind of like a mini conditioning treatment applied by the heat from the hair dryer. There is no switch to turn this feature on or off. There is a push button/trigger that you hold in when desired and that makes the invisible mist come out of the dryer while it is running as normal. You can not see the mist and it does not make your hair feel damp or anything like that. It is better to use that feature at the end of drying. I find the cartridges to last about 3-4 months. That is using the feature for about 2 minutes almost every time I blow dry my hair, which is roughly 5 days a week. The cartridges are easy to replace. They snap in. The mist has a subtle scent .. a natural smell. It is only present while using it though, the scent is very faint and does not linger on your hair.
This dryer has never overheated and shut off on me, even after using it for periods of 20 minutes at a time. It doesn't shut down after use either....meaning you don't have to wait for it to cool down before you can use it again. I did have that problem with some other dryers.
This dryer has seen major usage in the past 2 years and it is still going strong. It has held up surprisingly well. There has been no change in the heat it produces or anything. It is very well made and durable. The color is nice too.
The end cap is removable so you can clean the lint out.
I would definitely recommend this hair dryer to anyone. After using it so long now I don't even notice the weight of it and I think the benefits and quality are worth the trade-off.
Definitely a 5 Star item!

(More customer reviews)Amika products just flat out work! I decided to buy this product after my sister had purchased one for herself and persuaded me to let her straighten my hair with her iron. My hair had never been so flat and SMOOOOOTH. It turns out everyone she's done this to has ended up buying Amika flat irons, and I was no exception.
Unlike my sister's flat iron, this one has wider plates, is a little heaver and you can be used it wet to dry your hair, which the other Amika irons don't do. This saves you loads of time in the morning when you're prepping for work or school. For the record, I have thick, wavy shoulder length hair that just looks like cr*p without some form of styling.
I've NEVER been able to get my hair totally straight, no matter how long I sat there blowing hot air at my hair with a tough bristle brush, no matter how many times I went back to fix spots, it just never was going to submit. It was even worse when I lived in Florida with all the humidity. Now, with this iron my hair not only gets straight, it stays straight for days, EVEN in south Florida weather! And this is without the addition of straightening balms or products of the like; its just the iron.
Regarding the issue of the weight of this flat iron, I think if you can hold a hair dryer and a round bristle brush while trying to get your hair straight, this should be no problem. Its definitely less of a hassle for me. Plus, since the plates are larger that means more coverage and faster completion time. Bottom line: This is gold to anyone who needs a flat iron that actually straightens your hair superbly and makes it look and feel healthy and smooth to boot!

First, I admit I should have paid more attention to the person here in Amazon who complained that the product was too loud. That person is right. On the HIGH setting, the product is very loud and shrill. To avoid harm to my ears, I always use the lower setting.
Secondly, it's big and heavy. I have to use two hands to hold the wand and dry my long hair.
I only find one of the attachments useful. There are two other attachments, but I never switch to either of them.
On a more positive note, it does dry my hair quickly. Also, if I use it like I would a curling iron, (i.e., roll a strand of hair around the brush and hold it there for a few seconds, then unroll it), it gives my hair a gentle curl and nice body.
Bottom line, I find myself going back to my old blow-dryer-and-separate-round-brush method about 50% of the time. If I had to do it over again, I don't think I'd buy this product.

Celebrity Styler by Paris Hilton Review

Here are the pros & cons of the Celebrity Styler, compared to the Instyler:
PROS:
1) Insulated rubber-ish grip feels cooler and more comfortable in your hand.
2) Wider range of adjustable temperature settings with LCD display.
3) Less expensive than the Instyler.
4) Celebrity Styler has a more sturdier build, and does not feel flimsy the way Instyler does.
5) Quieter motor.
6) Ability to turn the rotating feature on or off.
7) Very cute pink/black design. :3
CONS (more like fixable cons):
1) Turned itself off for seemingly no reason, but then found out that it only happens when either my hair is getting stuck, or if the iron is not heated up all the way. So, I just comb/brush my hair better before using, and wait until the iron is done heating up before using it. Also, if you are really having trouble with your hair getting stuck, you can turn the rotating feature off for a quick run through of your hair, then turn the rotating back on for a finishing polish.
2) Similar to above, my hair was getting stuck. But, by brushing my hair better before using the iron, and taking smaller sections (about 1 inch), this isn't a problem anymore!
3) I thought maybe the iron wasn't as hot as the Instyler... but it heats up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, so I must be delusional, because that's hot!So... all in all... the pros FAR outweigh the cons!
If I need to buy another rotating iron... I'm buying this one!

Amika Pink Trio Hair Styling Tools Set Review

The plates on the straightener that I received grabbed at my hair instead of gliding over, and I had to go over it multiple times. My hair remained wavy in some areas no matter how long I concentrated on it, or how small I made the sections. I feel as though the Amika at the mall worked much better than this one did. I would not advise this straightener set to anyone who has hard to straighten hair and actually needs high-end straighteners to get their hair straight. For someone who's got easy to straighten hair, I'm sure that this set will work wonders for you. The curling iron, at best, left my hair with VERY loose spirals. Again. I would recommend this set to someone with easy to style hair, but not to someone who has hard to style hair. I am going to give my Mother this set, and invest my money in a Chii. The seller, however, does rather decently with shipping and I received my purchase around the time that I expected. I also did not receive a dryer with this, it was actually a mini-styler. A very small version of the straightener.

However there always comes a time when I finally get fed up with all the cheaper versions I buy malfunctioning some how and needing to be thrown away. I splurged to a forty dollar straightner by gold works from sally beauty supply and after only six months the cord developed some kind of short and had to be in one position to be on. Ridiculous. So I opted to spend more inorder to in the end save myself far more money. Thus far... six monthes in... I'm not having the problems I did with the forty dollar one. Furthermore I actually like the product. My hair doesn't feel dry and growse after I use it and does in fact feel soft. Definitely worth the money.
